Did this friendship in MomTok survive the drama???
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives fans know that Mayci Neeley and Whitney Leavitt hit a rough patch during the first season. When Whitney skipped out on the launch party for her pal’s brand, Baby Mama, Mayci was very upset. She had Whitney’s back the entire season and she couldn’t even show up for an hour to support her pal?! Not cool.
Later, Mayci confronted Whitney at Mikayla Matthews’ birthday party for her “selfish” actions. The two appeared to work things out, with Mayci letting her friend “halfway” out of the dog house. Then Whitney leaked their private text messages to each other about the Baby Mama launch situation following the show’s premiere earlier this month. That started a massive online feud with Mikayla! But what about Mayci? Where does she stand with Whitney these days? It sounds like they are not best friends anymore!

Mayci told host Jana Kramer on the Whine Down podcast that “most of us are good” with each other in the MomTok group. However, she pointed out that “one girl in our cast [is] not too good.” The TikTok star is obviously talking about Whitney here! Girl is feuding with everyone! Well, except Taylor Frankie Paul. They are shockingly pals!
As for Mayci? She and Whitney have been “cordial” with each other since the premiere — but they are not “as close” as they once were! Whoa! Mayci explained:
“I don’t think we’re even a fraction as close as we were when we started the show because of everything that transpired at the end and her not supporting me. I’m not gonna be [in a] a one-sided friendship.”
Oof…
But that is so fair! Why put in so much time and energy into a friendship when the other person won’t do the same? Even though Mayci is not besties with Whitney, she does feel for her, especially after all the “heat” she got online after Season 1 dropped:
“It’s been really hard for her, and I totally understand where [Whitney]’s coming from with all that.”
That said, Mayci is not tight with Whitney anymore because of “certain things she did publicly, like, posting our text online.” As we mentioned, Whitney posted to TikTok screenshots of her texts to Mayci days before the Baby Mama launch event to prove she did warn her she wasn’t attending. However, Mayci told Jana she received the message while filming and that Whitney is “very impulsive” and “changes her mind very often,” so she didn’t think her pal was 100 percent serious:
“So I read that text, and I was, like, ‘I’m filming; so I don’t wanna respond. And I don’t want to tell the girls what you just said because I knew they would be pissed.’”
She was right! They were! When Whitney missed the party, the rest of the women — who were not on good terms with the soon-to-be mom of three — had enough of her by that point and blocked her on Instagram right then and there. Then Whitney leaking their texts ultimately caused even more damage in the MomTok group! Once you break the trust, there is no going back!
While viewers thought Mayci was “blindly loyal” to Whitney on the show, she noted that although she was not harsh with her, she did not support what she did:
“There was things that were cut [from the show]. I very much would be, like, ‘Hey. listen, you need to figure whatever is going on.’ I was very open with her too. I definitely called her out for certain things.”
Unfortunately, we did not see it! Mayci went on to defend herself against criticism for “playing both sides” during the season, saying she was “just trying to live [her] life” and “survive.” Well, she made it through Season 1. Now, she has to “survive” through Season 2! Will her friendship with Whitney get fixed by then? We shall see! However, it sounds like Whitney has an apology to dish out first before they can even think about mending the fences!
