Who Says Avatar Won't Win At The Oscars?

James Cameron, that’s who.

The creator of the biggest box-office flick ever has serious doubts that his mega-flick will bring home any trophies this Oscar season, though he doesn’t sound TOO bitter about that.

In fact, he has his heart set on not winning and seeing his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow bring home the gold instead for her flick The Hurt Locker. He explains:

“I always believe it’s very unlikely that lightening will strike twice. I believe it’s very unlikely that we will win because I made such a jackass out of myself last time. Although there might be some curiosity about what I might do. The Hurt Locker is a very, very strong picture. Of the contenders, it’s definitely the strongest. Certainly it’s Kathryn’s moment. I would happily lose to her. I’ve already got one of those damn statues. I’d be pissed off if somebody else won, but I wouldn’t mind if she won.”

Like anyone would care if you were pissed off. Sure, Jason Reitman and Lee Daniels are shaking right now!

But you heard him Academy! No need to pump his ego with more statues! Time to spread the wealth around!

We guess we should ask though:
