Seems to us like they should be changed!
Lady GaGa has sold over 1.5 million copies of her debut album The Fame, but is ineligible for the Best New Artist category at this year’s Grammy Awards because of her nomination for Just Dance last year in the Best Dance Recording Category.
Last year, Jennifer Hudson shared a similar fate as she was snubbed from the Best New Artist category since she was previously nominated in the Outstanding Motion Picture Soundtrack Compilation category for Dreamgirls.
And now Grammy president Neil Portnow is addressing the controversy, stating:
“This particular issue in the Best New Artist category is on our radar and I would expect changes to address it in next year’s voting.”
Wow! Talk about causing mayjah changes in the industry!
The power of Gagaloo never ceases to amaze us!
