Wimbledon Rocks In Ratings Despite Andy Murray's Loss

Andy Murray just lost the Wimbledon final to Roger Federer, but the BBC One and ITV1 TV ratings were still great!
At a peak, 16.9 million people were tuned into the final match as Murray was the first Brit to make it to the finals since 1938!
His loss to Roger Federer allowed Federer to tie Pete Sampras’ record for 7 wins at Wimbledon.
In the UK, that 16.9 million peak not only accounted for a 67.9% market share but was also the biggest audience since 1990!
That’s crazy!
Who would’ve thought tennis of all things would draw such a huge crowd.
Congrats to Roger Federer!
