Living with a roommate is never easy — especially when they touch your food!
But this lady took things WAY too far!
33-year-old Melissa Dawn Sellers must’ve been pretty mad to do this when she set her 42-year-old roommate Carlos Ortiz Jr. on fire after she discovered he had thrown out a plate of her spaghetti!
The two were drinking in their shared apartment in Clearwater, Florida when Sellers found out what he had done. A witness says Sellers began setting things on fire in the apartment with her nail polish when all of a sudden she threw it all on Ortiz and lit it with a lighter!
The witness said:
“She was setting little objects on fire, then that turned into pouring nail polish remover all over him, and then all of a sudden, the lighter sparked and he lit on fire.”
The witness friend tried to help Ortiz with water and stuff, but it seemed to not do that much. As the witness recounts:
“When he got up, his face was like melting off, it was pink and sore. His lips were burning.”
That’s awful! And terrifying!

Ortiz was taken to the Tampa General Hospital where he was treated for burns to his face, chest, and shoulders. His last update was critical condition.
Sellers tried to leave the scene of the crime, but she was eventually charged with aggravated battery. She’s been arrested before for battery, too.
