Polanski Takes One Step Forward

Fugitive director Roman Polanski might be able to weasel himself out of trouble after all.
An appellate court granted Polanski and his legal team an emergency stay, delaying his hearing so he can request that all the judges of the LA Superior Court be dismissed from the case on account of bias and prejudice.
Polanski's legal hounds are asking that a judge outside of the LA Superior Court be brought in to hear his case for a dismissal of the charges all together.
In case you've been living under a rock for the past thirty years, Polanski pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl, whom he boozed and drugged before sleeping with. He then immediately fled to France, where he's been in self-imposed exile for 3 decades.
The victim, Samantha Geimer, has written a couple letters asking for a dismissal, but the court won't let him off. And now Polanski's team is asking for new judges to review his request for a dismissal.
We think he's a big fat coward!

Whilst I would NEVER condone what this mongrel did, I think people have lost sight of the fact that the victim wants it dropped because every time the subject comes up her name is once again splashed throughout the media. She's said she has forgiven Polanski and wants to move on with her life.
As the victim of the crime perhaps its time to listen to her.
Having said that, Polanski is a gutless bastard who should rot in jail.
Look at some of the movies he made, ie. Tess of the D'Urbervilles - it was virtually soft porn involving a girl who looked underage and was supposedly younger than 16 anyway.

Get familiar with the case before you make these stupid postings. Even the prosecutor at the time was petitioning the judge be removed and the case against Polanski be closed for time served. Polanski pled guilty, he served the judges sentence, and repeatedly the judge changed his sentence at the end of time served - which is illegal. That's why Polanski fled. He really couldn't get a fair trial. Years later the judge was disbarred.

She has told the DA to drop it like 7 times. This case is not what it appears. It's not like he grabbed some 13 year old and raped her. Not that 13 is the age of consent, but think about how much older a 13 year old was in the 70s compared to now.

#1 he didnt rape the girl and run for the border……he actually served some time in California prison & negotiated a plea deal, which the media loving judge (and this is no joke….widely known, you dumbdick, Pigez) decided to add to. Roman got pissed, as he had already entered his plea, when the judge decided to intercede in the process that the District Attorney had requested, the judge even invited the media into his chambers to discuss the thing! While Polanski was out (finishing up a film and scheduled to turn himself in, to serve more time…per the new requirements put forth by the judge) he said bullshit. That little girl (whose mother encouraged to flirt with and drink with Polanski…knowing his interest) grew up to realize that yes, he did wrong….however, it was entrapment. She has given interviews…mulitple interviews, since her mothers death. That's it…just research your shit before you act like you havent' "been living under a rock for the past thirty years", PIGEZ
Re: kbelle2207 – Actually K, just to make sure I was familiar with the case as you suggested I went and look up all the relevant clippings on the LA Times and assorted papers sites. Roman was allowed to plead out to a lesser charge on the child rape charge and all the other charges (including the drugging of a minor) were dropped. Prior to his sentecing he was ordered to a 90 psych eval to see if he was a dangerous sexual predator (this was a psych eval. and NOT a prison term for the child rape charges) after he was released from the psych eval (doing only half the time alloted for THAT) but BEFORE his sentencing date on the child rape charges he fled to Pars where he has remained since. He has never been formally sentenced for the child rape charges or served any time for it. Nuff said there….whether or not the man recieved a fair hearing he DOES fully admit to drugging and molesting a 13 yr old child and deserves to spend time in prison for that. In the 30 years since the only "punishment" he's had is the knowing that he can't enter the U.S. without being arrested. and lets face it….. he NOW deserves to also have additional charges added (flight from prosecution, or whatever charges may apply in Ca.
I wish this case would go away. It is old news and boring. Besides it happen over 30 years ago and the victim wants to move on. Not sure why you consider him a coward. If I committed a crime and had a chance to stay out of jail I would take advantage of it also. Which is something he has managed to do all these years.
Really I am for the hardest punishment in such things but after all these years and even the now grown-up woman says to let it go - wheres the problem?

The big question is why was Jack Nicolson never arrested? He was at the house during the dirty and even answered the door when the police arrived.
