Because “original” ideas are so last century!
An all-star cast is set to star in a musical adaptation of the 1996 hit flick The First Wives’ Club. It will be directed by Little Mermaid director Francesca Zambello, with a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes, and music by Motown songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland.
They’re hoping to have it ready for a summer premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego with an eye on Broadway.
The real question is whether or not the production can sell tickets in our current economic climate!
Was The First Wives Club enough of a hit to do well on Broadway????
Shrek is tanking!
