Today they are filming Batman scenes in Chicago at
Lasalle and Jackson. There are about 7 Gotham City
Police cars on the street. They have about 250 Gotham
City Police officers and 20 bag pipe players. They
have a stage set (like a parade stage) with 40 or so
men in suits (city officials) and on the stage are
round funeral wreaths. I saw a Batman "runner" at
Starbucks and he said they have over 1,300 extras for
this film scene. (That would explain the 15 porta
potties lined up on Wells!) Someone big dies in
Batman…..but who??
P.S. They wouldn't let me take any photos but I will
sneak out of work to try to get some to send later!!

Just to add to this…I work downtown and saw the same scene being prepared. I also saw a really built black man in a robe walking to the set. He had no uniform on (was only wearing a robe and almost looked naked underneath), so maybe he's the corpse?? I haven't seen any of the Batman movies, so I have no idea who he was. But he had enough people following him around that he looked important.

LaSalle and Jackson is where the CBOT (Board of Trade) building is and that was the Wayne Enterprises building (Outside at least) in the last movie. I know they are using the IBM Building to film the inside stuff for Wayne enterprises. Should be interesting. I work on Wacker and Wells - They have been filming a ton of night stuff on Lower Wacker and in the area.
So it's gonna be Batman versus MARILYN MANSON??? Eww…

From the other spoilers I've read it's Harvey Dent. But he isn't really dead. He comes back in the movie as Two-Face. So we get TWO VILLAINS in the sequel! Couldn't ask for anything more.
It's not a real character. The scene is a parade for a "fallen officer" but I don't think it's a main character. My guess would be the current commissioner, which leaves Gordon to take the position. The scene is being shoot this weekend downtown. They are very strict about letting cameras on set. You cannot bring your phone if it has a camera on it. Bales and Kaine have been cited in the city, but no word on Ledger. He was here a few weeks ago filming, so he may be done with the city as for now. Filming is delayed because of the storms ripping through the city right now, but this weekend is supposed to clear up.
With that many Gotham cops, it sounds like the chief or mayor may die.

I saw Aaron Eckardt (Harvey Dent) this a.m. walking into the Sofitel hotel on Wabash& Chestnut. He got out of a car, was carrying a newspaper and walked into the main lobby.

This is half a block from where I work. The way the shot is set up it looks like a big police event - not a funeral or anything. Given that Gary Oldman has been Lt. Gordon for the prequels, I'm thinking this might be a ceremony around his promotion to comissioner.
They've been filming here for months, but the crew has been nothing short of awesome - very friendly and accomodating to those are just trying to get to work, etc.

My boyfriend works downtown Chicago on a yacht and he gets to see all sorts of things from the movie. He is down town right now actually. The other day he said the people from the IBM building kept questioning their guests on the yacht because of filming was going to be going on. He also has been to the dry docks where some of the big orange and purple boats were being stored for a while. Now at the old post office there is a sign that says Gotham city police …a couple months ago it said Gotham City Hall. …I believe! I can't wait for it to come out! It is really neat that they are doing so much of the filming in my city!:)
I work on between Monroe and Adams. My friend Tyler works on the set with his dad so I got to catch a glimpse of the set. It's defintely set up like some kind of ceremony or memorial. I was told by my friend Tyler that Christian Bale wasn't on the set today.

You are so wrong. Christian Bale is by far the best Batman of the series because he not only is amazing as Batman but he is amazing as Bruce Wayne. Mike Keaton was great as Bruce Wayne, but his Batman left something to the imagination. It was somewhat shallow and flat. C.B.'s Bruce Wayne has life and is much deeper than any of the prior incarnations.
And Heath Ledger sounds scary good when he laughs at the end of the official trailer.

I work at the IBM building, and last weekend I saw them pulling batman up the side of the building with what looked to be a rope around his neck and knife in his chest…
The closest I could get to the set was the state street side of the building, slightly north of the state street bridge…they were doing most of the filming on the southeast corner (wabash side) of the building…so i could see the filming across the terrace…maybe about 100 feet away.
so my guess is that batman is the one who dies…we'll see!
Not really a big surprise. They've been filming it in the building I work in for over a month and all buildings in the area got notices two weeks ago about the shoot on the street and cop cars and whatnot. They're just not calling it Batman.
I was at the Shedd Aquarium yesterday. As you turned into the aquarium taxi drop-off area there were two huge flashing signs. The first one said "Batman Filming" and had an arrow pointing. The next one was about 100 ft later, and it said "Batman Crew Parking" with another arrow. I wonder what they were filming there. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary in that location - no large crowds, no blocked off sections.

Could be the mayor, could be Harvey Dent (Two Face is slated to make an appearance). It's probably NOT Gordon, but I think the mayor or Dent would be safe bets.

I work downtown on LaSalle St, and watched a bit of the shooting as I headed for my train home this evening. I must say they were all very tight lipped regarding what exactly they were shooting. The sene that they were filming (over and over) involved LOTS of gunfire and all the GPD cops ducking, drawing guns and heading for cover……Someone for sure gets off'd in this one….
Screw the funeral scene, I hope Christian Bale does a full frontal naked scene.Just because.
I personally can't wait to see it. Bale is the best Batman by far.

Its Harvey Dent who "dies". That's how they set up the third movie. In the clips shown to Comic Con, the final seen shows Aaron Eckhart (Dent) walking into a bar, and the bartender says "Dent, I thought you were dead". And Dent, who becomes "Two Face" in the comics, replies "half"

I live/work right there and there are trailers right outside my building, yet I still have not seen Christian Bale or Heath Ledger. It is really upsetting. I did see the Gotham city police vehicles and limos for this shoot though and it was badass!!!!!!!!

Hey I was there when they were filming I saw the helocopter and a scean where there were A LOT of police cars and police men in uniforms it was sooooo cool is u see a yellow greyline tour bus with the top bannana on it I was on that bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work in Chicago, and down the street from me they are building stunt cars and seenery. We have seen the Batman car drive down Bradley Place. No big stars cause these are warehouses they are working in. They tried to hide everything under the fake name of Rory's last Kiss.
