Dan Rather wants President Barack Obama to shell out a few pearls of wisdom on how to save the journalism industry.├é┬á In a speech at the Aspen Institute in Aspen, CO on July 28th, Rather said “I personally encourage the president to establish a White House commission on public media.”├é┬á
Oh, well if you personally encourage him, of course he’ll do it!
Rather thinks that “corporate and political influence,” on journalists has hurt the industry, which he called “the red beating heart of democracy and freedom.”
Yeah, Dan, we’re sure he’ll get right on that.├é┬á Forget foreign policy, health care, and the economy. Fix just this one industry!
We think the president has better things to worry about, homeboy.
