The ex-convict is speaking to the media about Lindsay, because we're all sure that is what's best for her recovery.
Michael says that he's heading to Utah this week to spend 5 days with the troubled actress at an undisclosed outpatient facility.
This is what daddy says:
"We've still got a lot of catching up to do. I'm looking forward to spending the next week with her. We've been in constant phone contact. She's in a great, great place now. I've never heard her so honest, contrite and focused. Lindsay is weeding out all the bad. She's taking a step back and reevaluating her life. What she tells - her honesty and openness - has brought me to tears. It's beyond words how proud I am of her."
We wouldn't be surprised if there were some more staged photo ops of the father / daughter reunion.

Kudos to Lindsay for sticking it out in rehab - she already IS getting her act together, by all accounts. Now if her parents can just fall in line this family might have a shot at being healthy and functional for the kids' sake.
So does anyone else think that Lindsay invited Sam Ronson to visit her so she could tell her what a lousy friend/enabler she has been and that she can no longer afford to have a person like SR in her life? Your parents are such a vital part of your life and a good relationship with them is necessary to complete healing. Lindsay should listen to her heart and understand that her father has taken a big step in Lindsay's healing process. This is a private time for Lindsay and her family and her Dad's words are encouraging and should be left at just that.
