Photography is a becoming a rough gig for Annie Leibovitz.
Annie was sued on Friday by a fellow photographer for using his photographs without permission.
Italian photographer Paolo Pizzetti filed in a federal court in New York, claiming she used his pictures as backgrounds in a Lavazza coffee ad campaign from last year:
“Pizzetti says Leibovitz hired him to shoot photographs of scouting locations for an ad campaign for Lavazza, the Italian coffee company, in April 2008. He said he photographed the Trevi Fountain in Rome and Plaza San Marco in Venice and images of other sites for her and sent her the images digitally.”
These images, according to Pizzatti, “perfectly match the scouting images he shot” and now he is seeking $150,000 per infringement.
Considering that Annie is already in the hole for $24 million dollars, we hope this isn’t true.
Not only will she be even more broke, but she will be sham!
Say it isn’t so, Annie?!
