In the overnights, it averaged an impressive 9.5/15, which is a considerable leap from last years numbers (7.9/12.)
That's up 20%!
We could be modest and let Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, and Miz Whitney Houston take the credit for this one, but let's get serious - you all watched to see us! Ha
But, all kidding aside, our shameless promowhoring of the show DEFINITELY helped them!
We look forward to being invited back again next year, if they know what's good for them! Ha ha ha

didnt watch the ama's…but im watchin the view right now and theyre talking about how over the top lady gaga and especially adam lambert were..gaga is chill but lambert is sucha flamer and so not entertaining…why do the losers of AI get record deals too??

Well the ratings didn't have a 20% increase. there was an actual decrease.

Kelly clarkson had the best performance of the night hands down. Classic and elegant. Gaga was my 2nd favorite.

the thing that pulled the ratings was the 5 nominations that Michael Jackson had. he won 4 out 5 taylor swift taking his 5 award for artist of the year. i dont agree with her winnig that award. i understand that in the standpoint of NEW music taylor swift deserved it but COME ON! MICHAEL is the artist of 2009!(well artist of the century to be honest)the thing that you will remmember about 2009 is the tragic death of the greatest that ever lived and for the young generation the re-discovery of this man!

I watched the AMA's I thought it was a waste of time. The performers suck really. Janet is old news she has been doing the same shit for 20 plus years does this woman every grow as an artist. Next, Whitney Houston…what happened to her voice.J Low…J who…come on what was that shiteous performance. Lady Gaga I really like but again whats with the stupid bottle smashing… I don't want to go through every artist but our music is in a sad state if this is the best of the best. The only performance that was real was Kelly Clarkson. Her music isn't for me but she was real and honest with just her voice and the mike.The other woman have all the glam and lights and being half dressed with half naked dancers jumping around the stage. This is to distract you from how horrible they sing or can't sing. Adam Lambert I really like…but his singing was shit as well. Some of it sounded like a garage band singing bad vocals. I admire him for his trueness to himself though. With the backlash from the straight and NARROW MINDED people. Get lost. People love it when two chicks swap spit or simulate sex acts…but because it was a guy they are all freaked out. Get with the times people. Back to the awards I will never watch another one till some good talent and music starts appearing.
