His golden streak is definitely over!
Tom Cruise's latest movie, Lion For Lambs, opened in the U.S. this weekend with a whimper.
The film came in at #4 with a measly $6.7 million take.
The #3 film took in three times as much as Cruise's film! That was Vince Vaughn's Fred Clause, which made $19.2 mill. The Clause film will also have much more staying power as it is a holiday flick and very family-friendly.
This does not bode well for Tom's new United Artist, as Lion For Lambs was the first film he did for the studio, which he's now a part of.
We're sure that Nazi film he's working on will do even worse!

i saw the movie yesterday and i thought it was fabulous.
and all thereviews i have read have been equally positive,
all in all as long as the reviews remain good the word will spread abou how wonderful the movie is.
oh and i also hate tom cruise, so for me to actually like a movie with him in it is an amazing feat.

It was mentioned before that the bloated salaries for actors would have to be reduced as studios can no longer afford to pay the ridiculous amounts some of these stars get. I'm a bartender at the theatre here in the city. We have this movie playing and the patrons have nothing but good things to say about the movie.

It is a shame that people cannot look past the fact Tom Cruise is in the movie and therefore will not go and see it. I saw the movie today in Spain where the movie seems to be doing very well. It was a great movie that I think everyone could benefit from seeing. It does allow you to think and examine your place in the world. An absolutely wonderful movie!!!
Ironically, one part of the movie makes fun of people watching celebrities on the news while there are bigger issues that should be on the television. hmmm….
The reason that "Lions for Lambs" has nothing to do with Tom Cruise's starpower (or lack thereof). It has more to do with the fact that the American movie-going public has been conditioned to accept nothing but pap and garbage. The last movie I saw with Tom Cruise in it was War of the Worlds and every time he came on screen, all I could see was him jumping on Oprah's couch. I used to be a huge fan but no longer am. I watched his MI:III on video about a year after it's release. I will not support anything he does. He is a major hypocrite. Too over the top cultish judgmental behavior and is a homosexual in deep denial. Time for him to rest on his laurels. As for his latest movie making $6.7 million, that's a bomb because his movies always used to bring in at least $40+ million and would open #1. So finally America may just have had enough of the TomKat. Katie is still a useless actress but if she can parlay her career like Nicole did when she married Tom, she'll do wonders for herself. The only difference is that Nicole CAN act and could long before she came to America from Australia. Tom Cruise is not someone I can look at any longer. Any time he comes on the screen, I switch the channel. I have no interest in hearing what he has to say about anything and rare is it that I'm that turned off by a celebrity, but I'd have to say that he takes the cake in being a complete jerk and phony person. The movie is boring as hell. I felt sorry for Meryl Streep having to act opposite him. He plays the same character in every movie. He can't act. Think about it. In every movie you can almost hear him say 'show me the money'. He is certainly thinking 'I am the greatest actor alive, everybody loves me, now show me the money!!!' What a TOOL.
