When you're Aretha Franklin, you never have to hold back what you think!
And she doesn't!
The singer sat down with the Wall Street Journal to talk about her new album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, and during the 10 minute interview, she was asked what she thought about singers Adele, Alicia Keys, and Whitney Houston, and she had complimentary things to say.
It's possible that Aretha isn't a big fan of the ladies' music, but we didn't know she felt this un-strongly about them!

She's still down with Adele!!
After releasing the audio track of her Rolling in the Deep/Ain't No Mountain High cover this week, Miz Aretha Franklin has been making her late night TV rounds.
She stopped by David Letterman on Monday to perform the jam — but instead of listening to the song, we were totally distracted by one of her stage-mates…
Specifically, the familiar looking woman to the left!
Since we've got extensive diva knowledge, we had a feeling there was a famous face among the soul queen that evening — and it's none other than Whitney Houston's 81-year-old momma Cissy, singing backup!
First off, we're just so happy to see the gospel songstress is out, about and working these days. She looks just wonderful! But still, we couldn't help but notice her disinterest in the performance, which is odd especially since she's been singing backup for Aretha since the mid-1960s.
Maybe she's just not a fan of Adele! But — who doesn't love Adele?!
Ch-ch-check out the song (above) and try and guess Miz Houston's emotions throughout! It's pretty great!

You better THINK before you're rude to this legend!
Aretha Franklin recently nailed a sold out show at Niagara Falls when she stopped in at a local Johnny Rockets to grab some take out food. But when the Queen of Soul decided to sit down anyway and eat her fast food there - one of the servers was NOT having it!
All because the server believed that Aretha was violating the restaurant's take out policy.
But when you're a 72-year-old living legend - we'd say the rules at Johnny Rockets were MADE to be be broken! And as it turns out - Aretha wasn't violating anything!
Afterwards, Aretha vocalized her complaints and described the worker's behavior towards her as "very rude, unprofessional and nasty."
Ugh! We hate that this happened to Aretha!
Johnny Rockets, for their part, are very apologetic about the whole thing and have told Aretha's people that they've already talked to the "unprofessional" employee and have taught them how their take out policy really works.
Especially when it comes to Aretha!
We're not saying that Johnny Rockets should treat celebrities any differently than non-celebrities mind you. We're just saying you should always show R-E-S-P-E-C-T to this natural woman.
Otherwise you're just a fool working in a chain fast food restaurant!
Aretha Franklin Doesn't Take Too Kindly To These Satirical Accusations! Suing News Site For $10 Million Over Slanderous Claims!
A few weeks ago, a satirical site called The News Nerds published an outrageous article about Patti Labelle and Aretha Franklin getting into a little tiff.
The satirical site "reported":
"While Aretha Franklin was making her way to the stage, Labelle extended her hand to greet the “Respect” singer, when she threw epic shade in an effort to avoid her."
Needless to say, the Respect singer did not take too kindly to their fake claims.
A few days after the fake story went viral, Aretha posted a response, dismissing the scuffle between the two songstresses, but apparently that wasn't enough!
In fact, Aretha just filed a $10 million lawsuit against The Onion wannabe site!
Through her publicist, Gwendolyn Quinn, the queen of soul said:
