And the plot thickens!

Despite her announcement that she was leaving her position on the judges panel of The X Factor because of scheduling commitments to Australia's Got Talent, Dannii Minogue may have actually been fired from her role on the reality competition than none other than Simon Cowell himself!

A source reveals:

"She was axed, pure and simple. Simon is a huge admirer of Dannii and loved working with her but the fact is he wanted new people this year."

We hope that's not true!

It really would be such a shame!

Hopefully she's comforted knowing it was purely a business decision, and that she still has her job on Australia's Got Talent!

We'll miss you though, Dannii! Best of luck!

Dannii Minogue has announced that she's unable to appear on UK's X Factor this year due to scheduling conflicts.

Days before the new series was to launch, Dannii expressed how bummed she was to quit the show. She said:

”I am so disappointed that I can't be a part of The X Factor this year. I'm going to miss the show and the amazing team who work so incredibly hard on it.”

Because of her commitment to Australia's Got Talent, she explains:

"During discussions for me to return to the X Factor it became clear that unfortunately, this year, the X Factor audition dates in the UK clash with the live shows of Australia's Got Talent during June and July.

For this reason I am unable to return. I want to wish the new judges every success for this year's show, and can't wait to see who the British public choose as their next big star.

Thanks to everyone who has shown me so much love and support, and brought me so much joy during my four incredible years working on the show.”

Oh well, Dannii. Yes, we're disappointed that we won't see you on the judges' panel this year, but we are excited for your work on Australia's Got Talent!

Poor dear! We're just happy to report that she's alright!

On Saturday evening, Dannii Minogue gave her family quite a scare when she was rushed to the emergency room to have her appendix removed.

After doubling over in agony for hours, The X Factor judge finally went to see a doctor and she was immediately diagnosed acute appendicitis and was admitted. Within two hours she was in surgery and finally was discharged Wednesday.

We hear she is now comfortably recuperating at home.

Well, this is unfortunate!

Despite mentoring contestants Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd during their time on The X Factor, Cheryl Cole has reportedly failed to get in touch with any of them since the reality competition ended two months ago!

Former contestant Mary Byrne recently revealed that although Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Dannii Minogue have all been corresponding regularly with their proteges, she seems to know for certain that the pop star has yet to make an effort to do the same!

She explains:

"Matt has heard from Dannii, I'm sure the boys have been in touch with Simon, but I know Cheryl hasn't been in touch with any of the girls."

Too bad! We're sure there's a reasonable explanation, though!

With Chezza's plans to come stateside and possibly join the US version of the show, we imagine that she is ridiculously busy!

But we would like to think that she could make the effort to pick up the phone and at least CHECK IN with the girls! She seemed to have such a nice relationship with them all!

Sad.

The host of The UK's X Factor, Dermot O'Leary, is quitting the show, hoping he can land the same gig on the US version of the show.

After hosting the show for four years, O'Leary thinks this is his big chance to make it in America and has told his friends that if he's not given the hosting gig in the US, he will interpret that as a sign that his time on the series is done, and will look at other opportunities.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell hinted on the show's finale that he also plans on leaving the show to concentrate on the US version.

When asked about the future of X Factor in 2011, Simon responded:

"Something's going to happen in the next three or four months that's going to alter my decision next year.

I have actually enjoyed doing this series more than any other because it's been controversial, and that stops it being boring. As soon as you get bored, the audience get bored and there's no show. Simple as that."

An insider confirmed his departure, saying, "Simon is not coming back next year. Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh will return, so the viewers will have a sense of continuity, but Simon’s not going to be on the show."

We're happy to have Simon back in the US, but if we were the host of UK's X Factor, we would NOT quit our cushy job! It's silly for him leave the show! Especially since it seems likely that the American version will most likely want to have an American host with a household name.

It's so nice to hear that they're developing an off-the-camera relationship!

Sources close to the production of X Factor have revealed that in the past few months, judges Cheryl Tweedy and Dannii Minogue have become much closer than they have been in the past!

The insider reveals:

"It’s the closest Dannii and Cheryl have ever been. In the past they’ve had little contact off camera. This year they have each other’s number and are actually texting each other."

Wonderful!

Given the year that Chezza has had, we think it's great that she's opening up to her fellow judge! Dannii could be a great friend to her!

After her divorce earlier in the year, her bout with malaria, and most recently, death threats from disgruntled X Factor fans who were furious with her decision to eliminate contestant Gamu Nhengu, we think it's safe to say that Cheryl Tweedy is having herself a serious rough patch!

And it doesn't seem to lightening up anytime soon!

Sources close to the reality competition claim that everyone on set has had enough of the pop star's attitude, most notable fellow judge Louis Walsh, who lost his cool with her on Saturday's show and said:

"I have an opinion. It’s not all about you, Cheryl!"

He was quoted saying afterward:

"Oh she always gets the attention, she’s the nation’s sweetheart. I’m fed up listening to her! It’s not her show. I don’t care! I’m not here to keep her happy."

Apparently, Louis had been feeling this way for quite some time, and it's finally gotten too much.

An insider explains:

"He’s been bubbling with rage. He thinks Simon Cowell unfairly helps her out – to the extent of picking the songs for her contestants to sing. What really gets Louis’s goat is that she does this poor-little-me act but inside there’s a heart of stone."

Meow!

We hope this doesn't become Dannii vs. Sharon 2.0!
