This is crazy! The end of an era!!

After 53 years, Univision announced today that Sábado Gigante will end September 19. This marks the end of the longest-running television variety series in history!!

The show was known for its crazy mix of comedy sketches, wild amateur talent shows, emotional family reunions, and barely clothed dancing women!

It's not all bad news for host Mario Kreutzberger, known to audiences as Don Francisco. Though the 74-year-old plans to announce his departure during Saturday's show, he will stay with the network to work on talent development and occasionally host entertainment specials like TeletónUSA.

Univision declined to comment on why they made the decision to cancel the show that's been on air for over half a century.

We are so sad to say goodbye to this classic variety show that has provided generations with wacky television!
