Check Out Lauryn Hill On Jimmy Fallon!

Jimmy Fallon somehow gets the coolest musical guests to be on his show, and not only that, he talks them into doing their best songs instead of just their new stuff!

His latest awesome guest was Lauryn Hill — and he had her perform Doo Wop (That Thing)!!

Lauryn's great, as we all know, and this performance is no exception. She totally KILLS the verses, though, we were expecting a little more from the choruses!

Either way, check out that monster chain she's wearing! We don't know how she can even stand! LOLz!

Great job, Lauryn!

Keep up the sweet guests, Jimmy!

How do U feel Lauryn did??

A half dozen babies?! Phew! Girl! Good luck to you!

Lauryn Hill announced last night at her show in Detroit that after this tour, she was going to be taking a little time off. Before she let the crowd get into a booing frenzy over another "hiatus," Lauryn revealed that she needed to be off her feet for awhile, since she's preggers with her sixth child!

Okay, we guess that is an expectable excuse!

We kid, we kid! Its more than expectable! It's WONDERFUL! Such joyous news! We're so happy for you!

Congrats to the new momma…for the sixth time!

Lauryn Hill Pays Homage To Her Father-In-Law

And she did him justice, we think!

Last night, it was Lauryn Hill's turn to pay tribute to Bob Marley on Jimmy Fallon's week-long event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of legendary Jamaican singer's death. As a member of the singer's family (she's married to Rohan Marley, Bob Marley’s fourth eldest son) it only seemed right she be a part of the celebration.

Check out the video (above) to hear Lauryn make her way smoothly through Bob's classic Chances Are!

Beautifully done!

Lauryn Hill Arrives Late To A Show For The 9,999th Time Again!

Filed under: Music Minute > Lauryn Hill

lauryn hill late for another show

They should really just start scheduling her shows in the morning, so by the time she arrives, it will be a reasonable time.

A source has told us that Lauryn Hill was over an hour late to her show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC last night, because she was "under the weather."

We certainly understand a late arrival if she were legitimately sick, but this kind of thing happens SO often that it's hard for us not to be extremely skeptical.

It's getting to the point where we'll probs stop making an announcement when you're late to shows, Lauryn.

Why don't you show up EARLY to a concert? Now THAT would be news! LOLz.

Would U still go to a Lauryn Hill show? Or has her track record turned U off?

Lauryn Hill Vs. Sundance VIPs!

lauryn-hill-upset-with-sundance-film-festival-vip-audience-members

Regardless of whether or not they were happy with her performance, this is still so rude!

Ms. Lauryn Hill demands respect, and she'll get it, no matter what!

The singer recently performed a small gig at the Sundance Film Festival Wednesday night, and although she once again did re-worked versions of old material from her last album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, some unnamed guests in the VIP section of the venue - which was roped-off and right in front of the stage - were reportedly so rude that they ignored the performance, with their backs turned to her!

Obviously, Hill didn't take too kindly to that - especially because they were blocking the view of audience members who were interested in being there - and promptly asked security "to move the crowd, you understand me?"

Good! We're glad to hear that she hasn't abandoned that part of her along with her old sound!

She may be difficult, but you can't help but respect her for calling it like she sees it!

Thoughts??

Lauryn Hill Keeps Her Fans Waiting…Again!

lauryn-hill-keeps-montreal-fans-waiting-three-hours-concert.jpg

But the real question is…was she worth it? Ha!

According to sources who were at the Metropolis in Montreal last night, Lauryn Hill showed up three hours late for her 9:30 PM show, just like she did in Brooklyn a few weeks ago! The nerve!

One source revealed to us that Lauryn's excuse for being so late had to do with the condition of her voice. She explained that she had to let it relax because it was so cold out.

But apparently, the time wasted didn't help her voice at all. Another concert-goer told us she sounded AWFUL and made the songs "unrecognizable" the way she was singing them. The sourced added that everyone was royally pissed for wasting their money since "you couldn’t even keep up with her" while she performed.

Then, we read this review of her show, which was nothing if not justifiably biting. The reviewer explained:

"'We're going to do some classics tonight,' Hill assured the crowd following that relatively obscure Bob Marley number. 'You're definitely going to recognize the words.'

And indeed, Lost Ones, one of the many Miseducation of Lauryn Hill standouts that the crowd indeed knew by heart, came next - only it didn't sound much like the straight-ahead hip hop gem it was on the album. It was more of a funk-rock jam that showcased her band, as was Ex-Factor. Zion, the touching ballad tribute to her first child with Marley's son Rohan, featured an aimless, jazzy keyboard solo that seemed entirely out of place.

This seemed to lend credence to those reports of Hill obliterating her beloved classics, which I normally don't begrudge an artist who's played them ad nauseam over the years. But given that Hill hasn't exactly been a prolific performer over the past decade, and that she hasn't so much as set foot in Montreal for most of that time, a more crowd-pleasing set seemed in order, especially given the interminable wait. (How can she be tired of them already?)"

Wow. What is she doing on this tour?

If we've learned one thing about Lauryn from these reports is that her fans are devoted LOYAL. We don't know too many people who would put up with waiting so long to see an artist perform, only to hear them sing songs they'd never heard before or hear their favorites torn to bits.

She's very lucky…but how long with that last, we wonder.
