On Tuesday, Universal Pictures announced that Johnny Depp will star in the remake of The Invisible Man!
In case you aren't familiar, the original 1933 film was an adaptation of the legendary H.G. Wells novel about a scientist who discovers a way to become invisible.
This project is part of Universal's plan to re-establish its famous monster characters. They already have Tom Cruise starring in the remake of The Mummy, which is slated for a June 9, 2017 release.
Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will produce, while Ed Solomon will write the script. No director has been announced.
Executives Jon Mone and Jay Polidoro will oversee the project.
This is going to be such a good film!

Was this not common knowledge?
Tom Cruise isn't just one of the most eccentric A-Listers in Hollywood, he's also one of the most ageless…
While it's been suggested many times before, Cuba Gooding, Jr. stopped by Watch What Happens Live! on Thursday to promote The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and more than confirmed the plastic surgery rumors.
In fact, the 48-year-old actor told Andy Cohen that he actually once saw his Jerry Maguire costar in the process of getting some work done to his face with his own eyes!
Ch-ch-check out Cuba's tea-spilling moment from WWHL (below)!!!
Highway to the danger zone!
After years of talk about a Top Gun sequel, and some sad news and setbacks with the tragic death of director Tony Scott, it looks as though we're getting closer than ever before to satisfying our need for speed!
Sure, last summer we got an update on the project from David Ellison, a Co-producer on the sequel, but now we have a confirmation from major Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Ever since Marvel Studios was able to bring all of its properties into one shared universe in The Avengers, studios have been trying to duplicate their success.
Warner Bros. is launching DC's Justice League, Paramount is mashing up G.I. Joe with other toys, and Universal has… monsters.
Well, their shared Classic Monsters universe just got a big shot in the arm as Tom Cruise has officially signed on for the reboot of The Mummy, which has been moved to a release date of June 9, 2017 to accommodate his schedule.
Now that Tom is on board,
Katie Holmes is always such a class act.
"I feel more creative. I feel ready. I had no life experience [back then]. I felt, 'I don't have anything to bring. I don't know what it's like to be, say, really angry. I'm doing the best I can.' But with age I've gained confidence. I understand the kind of stories I want to tell. I have more experience in the business. I feel more certain."
Just because Tom Cruise's ex is older, doesn't mean she's ready to stop learning and taking risks:
