Weezer Planning Blue/Pinkerton Tour!

Filed under: Music Minute > Weezer

Any Weezer fans out there who suffer from depression will all be instantly cured with this news!

The band has announced their plans for a retro tour, where they will spend 2 nights in each city. The first night, they will play the entire Blue album, and the second night they will play Pinkerton in its entirety.

Here’s what frontman Rivers Cuomo had to say about it:

"We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We're just running it by promoters right now to see if there's sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they're on board, it's gonna happen."

And more from Rivers:

"The fan response has been incredible so far for the idea. And, if they want to, they can contact their local promoter and tell them to make it happen."

We will be shocked if this doesn’t happen. Hardcore Weezer fans worship those two albums. We’ll be keeping an ear out for an official announcement of this tour, which we're sure will happen sooner than later.

Would U like to see a Blue/Pinkerton tour?

First Look! The Cover Art For Weezer's New Album, Hurley

No, Losties, your eyes are note decieving you. What you are looking at is the actual cover art for Weezer's next album:

A big ole picture of Jorge Garcia aka Hurley from Lost!

Yeah, we're not so much getting it either, but we'll roll with it for now. Apparently, it will make sense once we've heard the album.

Rivers Cuomo explained to New York Magazine why this particular pictures was chosen for the cover. He said:

"I just loved this photo of Jorge Garcia — it just had this amazing vibe. We didn't want to do a fourth self-titled record and we knew people would refer to it as 'the Hurley record' even if left it without that title, so we just called it 'Hurley.' No words are on the cover because all we wanted was his amazing face."

Wow. Um, okay. His amazing face it is then. Certainly it's a risk, something different.

Course, no matter what this Hurley business is, it'll never be as good as Buddy Holly, so….

B.o.B. is on fire!

The rapper has come out SUPER STRONG with his hit song Nothing On You, followed by what is bound to be as big a second single, Airplanes.

And, now, we have just heard a song off B.o.B.'s new album that we are OBSESSED with!

Magic is produced by hitmaker Dr. Luke and features guest vocals by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer.

It's like pop rap!

And we LOVE it!

So awesome!

Weezer Officially An Indie Band

Does that mean it's cool to be into them again?

After 16 years with the label, the boys of Weezer have left Geffen Records and plan to start producing their own music all on their own.

What exactly that means, they don't even know, but bassist Scott Shriner told Billboard Magazine that they are definitely working on "new music" and are "scheming something" big for fans. One of the things on the table is a collection of B-sides and rare recordings the guys have had over the years.

That sounds like a great way to recycle!

Are U interested in some new/old Weezer tunes?
