50 Cent's Stuffed Entourage Visits Him In The Hospital

sick-50-cent-animals.jpg

Ha! That is just about the best picture we've ever seen!

50 Cent was recently admitted to a hospital for a stomach virus! Aww… now we feel bad.

He tweeted the (above) photo, so at least we know he's in good spirits! LOLz!

One of 50's friends and recent music collaborators, DJ Drama said:

"First they wanted to keep it quiet, but he's not a quiet guy. He should be cool. It's nothing that serious."

We all know how much 50 likes to tweet — and we're so glad he tweeted this.

We really hope he gets better quickly.

Feel better, 50!

Quick! Everyone stop going number two!

That goes for pets, pigs and seagulls too!

Waste from those animals and us are possibly playing a significant role in the rise of antibiotic-resistant infections.

Shell Gets Permits For Arctic Ocean Drilling

shell-alaska-drilling.jpg

A spokesperson for Shell Alaska has recently said that they are a step closer to exploratory drilling off of Alaska's northern shores.

The National Marine Fisheries Service issued the company harassment authorizations for whales and seals.

That sounds horrible just from the name alone.

The permits mean they're authorized to work near animals so long as the impact is minimal.

That of course isn't taking into account possible oil spills.

Shell wants to drill up to three exploratory wells this summer in the Chukchi Sea and an additional two wells in the Beaufort Sea using two drill ships.

The biggest environmental issue is that these oil companies haven't demonstrated that they'd be able to clean up a spill in the icy waters of the north pole.

This is not good for all the poor animals already struggling with climate change.

Boo Shell!

The California Mad Cow Has Been Euthanized

Mad Cow Euthanized

While we REALLY don't condone the killing of animals, this case is probably for the better.

The California dairy cow that was found to have Mad Cow Disease has been euthanized. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is saying that the animal was 10 years and seven months old.

Apparently it was, "humanely euthanized after it developed lameness and became recumbent."

There is still no risk to the food supply, luckily, and this is the first case reported since 2006.

RIP little buddy, we're so sorry you got sick!

Starving Alternate Days Might Help You Lose Weight And Boost Brain Power!

Starve Alternate

The title pretty much says it all!

But get this — doing that might actually help you live longer, too!

It's based on The National Institutes for Aging's tests that gave animals the bare minimum of calories required to keep them alive and results showed they lived up to twice as long.

So naturally, they tried it on humans.

Guess what? It

Kris Humphries Celebrates In Style

Kris Humphries Royce

Kris Humphries just turned 27, and decided that 27 was a good age to go all out for some reason — we all know that 27 is the most special of ages! Right??

First, he chose a Rolls Royce, because he's elite like that!

Then, he picked Abe & Arthur's restaurant in the Meatpacking District for his dinner party, because he's a man like that!

After dinner, he had a clown make him balloon animals — but decided to skip the petting zoo. "27 is just too old for a petting zoo," he might have said.

LOLz!

We kid! It WOULD be rad to have both balloon animals and a petting zoo, though, regardless of age! Ha!

Hope you had a happy birthday, Kris!

Early Malaria Vaccine Results Hold Promise!!

Malaria Vaccine Promise

This is FANTASTIC news!

A new, experimental, vaccine for the most deadly strains (if not all) of malaria is showing early promise — which is such a great thing.

In animals, the vaccine stopped Plasmodium falciparum, the parasite that is responsible for 9 out of 10 malaria deaths!

Apparently the achilles heel of the parasite is a protein called RH5. Blocking this protein stops it from latching onto the host's cells.

If the safety tests go well, we could be seeing clinical tests in two to three years… which means we might have a vaccine readily available within the decade!!

Good luck to everyone involved, this is major!
