Awful! This is just so terribly sad!

In south Fulton County near Union City, GA - 20 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta, a toddler was killed by the family's dog!!

The 2-year-old boy was attacked and killed by his family's pit bull when his mother was in the bathroom.

Tim Gunn, a mentor to fashion designers on Project Runway, is not only a talented designer, he's a huge animal lover!!

Most recently, he's sent a letter via PETA to the organizers of a gay pride celebration in Atlanta.

He is asking that they move their party that kicks-off the event to a new venue, instead of the Georgia Aquarium.

23 year old Rebecca Carey was killed at her Decatur, GA home, mauled by her dogs.

A friend found Carey's body after she failed to show at an animal clinic. Carey had five dogs living with her at the time of her death, including a pit bull she owned for six years.

The former college student was known for taking in abandoned dogs.

All five dogs were euthanized.

Toucan Sam just got some Fruit Loops competition! LOLz!

Two Toco toucan chicks were hatched around St. Patty's Day and the babes are thriving!

The most recognizable of the toucans, these chicks are a sight for sore eyes due to the difficulty in breeding Toco toucans.

They are currently being hand reared off site at the Atlanta Zoo for safety reasons.

When they fledge, these baybays will be looking FAB!

How does she keep getting cuter??

Betty White reunited with Beethoven the beluga whale, who she met last year at the Atlanta's Georgia Aquarium.

The two shared such a connection that White featured the whale in her new book, expected later this year. Bet loved the whale so much that she gave him his own chapter!!

White, who flew back to Atlanta for the reunion, said that she was thrilled to be able to get in the tank with Beethoven.

However, the veteran actress will not be getting up close and personal with one Sgt. Ray Lewis after declining his invitation to a military ball.

Looks like it will be a happy ending for the poor puppy who was almost killed when a Minneapolis woman attempted to mail him in a box to her son in Atlanta.

The 5-month-old schnauzer-poodle mix, now named Guess, will be up for adoption this Friday!

Anyone interested in adopting this adorable pup must be at the Minneapolis Animal Care and Control shelter where a drawing will be held.

Since Guess has gotten plenty of attention from the media, don't be late because the shelter is expecting a line.

Shelter officials say hundreds of people from across the U.S. and the world have already asked to adopt Guess.

Only one lucky family can take home guess, but hopefully this issue will encourage other people to consider adoption.

There are plenty of other animals out there just like Guess who need a home too!
