The CDC announced that there is a new strain of norovirus running rampant across the globe… and it's made its way to the good ol' U.S. of A!

The new "GII 4 Sydney" strain of the virus has caused over 140 outbreaks in the U.S. since September!

Do you know what a polar bear plunge is?

If you thought about it, you could guess: it's when you jump into freezing cold water for the hell of it. The question is, though, whether or not it's good for you!

Vinny Guadagnino has done the Coney Island Polar Bear Club's 110th New Year's Day Swim twice now. Here's what he says:

"You get a rush when you're there because there are so many people doing it. It's definitely like a shot of adrenaline… It doesn't affect you that much — you just have to go in, and do it, and jump back out… Afterward, as soon as I get out, I have a towel waiting for me, and I dry off quickly. That's it — and then, I just chill."

If the one thing keeping you from being fit and healthy is the non-existence of an obscenely expensive fork that yells at you when you've eaten too much, well hold onto your giant butts: it exists!

But it doesn't yell, it vibrates. Bummer.

It's called a HAPIfork, and it's as first-world as you can get. It's a computerized fork that gives you a buzz when you're eating too fast. The product counts each bite you take and tracks your average meal time, the number of bites per serving, and the number of bites per meal where you were "overspeeding," or bringing the fork to your mouth too quickly.

We all know about Anne Hathaway's nutso diet to get her look just right in Les Mis, but did you know that Hugh Jackman did the same thing?

Well, he didn't do it EXACTLY like she did, but he did indeed starve himself of food and water like his beautiful cast-mate! He even had to apologize to the crew for being so grumpy because he was so hungry!!

People are livid and cracking down on everything "thinspo" or pro-eating disorder on the web right now, which we think it a fab thing to crack down on.

The problem is, new social media seems to pop up regularly, spreading the watchdogs thin and making it harder and harder to keep awful movements like this in check. Like, Instagram for instance.

Instagram has already taken steps to monitor hashtags and images that celebrate disordered eating and emaciated bodies, such as #thinspo and #anorexia, but it isn't enough. It's way too easy to be harmful.

We hope you aren't offended by us calling drunk drivers, who do something incredibly stupid, stupid. Because they are, plain and simple, and there is NO reason for them to be out on the roads while drunk.

Cabs exist, DDs are lined up for a reason. No excuses.

People can't seem to grasp that, though, and people continue to die needlessly because of it. Well, science wants to stop that by stalling drunk drivers.

We just have to survive 2013 before we get out hands on the new technology made by a company called Qinetiq. It could end drunk driving, once and for all. All sixteen major carmakers and the federal government split the funding for the $10 million project.
