And now, the 49-year-old is also joining in on the conversation.
At the 2016 Makers Conference on Tuesday, the acclaimed actress addressed the issue while speaking to reporters. The brunette beauty remembered how excited she was when she won Best Actress for Monsters Ball back in 2002, because she believed it meant more opportunities for non-white actors in the future.
