Zoo Tel Aviv Ramat-Gan in Israel was lucky to have mama Sand Cat, Rotem, who gave birth to four of the cutest baby sand kitties we've ever seen.

We're seriously about to run to Israel real quick to go try and steal one of these little guys.

We're kidding obvi, but these little guys would be the best cuddle buddies.

Sadly they're extinct in the wild so thank goodness for this zoo or else no one would get to enjoy their insane adorbzness!

At Israel's Ramat Gan Zoological Center a brand new baby Somali Wild Ass was born!

The Somali Wild Ass is very rare, so this was a big deal.

The country just passed a law that bans the declawing of cats.

If convicted of declawing, a person could face up to a year in prison and a $20,000 fine!!

That's crazy!

When a cat is declawed (like 25% of American cats are) the entire toe joint, including the bone, is amputated.

That's like having your fingers tips cut off at the third knuckle.

Seriously.

Cats use this part of their paws for walking and general defense, and can cause medical complications, so Israel hopes the measure will protect cats.

Guess they don't care much about the well being of couches and curtains.

Though we had no idea the severity of what "declawing" actually entailed.

Poor kitties. Maybe Israel has the right idea.

Insane fines but their hearts are in the right place.

Hey there little cutie!

A rare Sand Cat kitten was born in Israel's Safari Zoo this week, which is the first of its kind to be born at the zoo.

In fact, the breed is said to be extinct in Israel. Sand cats will drink water if provided, but can go for months surviving on water found in their food.

Renana, the kitty's name, is part of Israel's Sand Cat Breeding Program, which works to reintroduce the species back into the wild.

She's just a pretty little thing, isn't she? Watch her in action in the video (above).

Woah! We can honestly say we NEVER saw this coming.

Israeli scientists have discovered that mice are more accurate than dogs or x-ray machines to detect bombs and drug couriers so they have created a detector containing three concealed cartridges with 8 specially trained mice to do the job.

The contraption looks similar to a full-body scanner, but instead of x-ray, rely's solely on specially trained mice that sense traces of drugs and run to a side chamber where the trigger an alarm.

Inventor Eran Lumbroso who hopes larger companies will help with the final stages of development said:

"It is as if they are smelling a cat and escaping. We detect the escape."

For those concerned with animal cruelty it seems like the mice are taken care of. They work in 4 hour shifts and have fresh air pumped into their respective cartridge.
