Jack The Cat Will Continue To Receive Treatment In Manhattan

jack the cat brought to manhattan

We're thinking of you, Jack!

To recap, Jack the Cat was lost at JFK airport over two months ago, and he was finally found late last month.

Jack was brought to the hospital in critical condition after literally falling from the sky, and we had heard that he had a 50-50 shot at surviving.

Now, Jack has returned to the West Side of Manhattan, where he'll continue to receive care, and hopefully make a full recovery.

Here's what veterinarian Benjamin Davidson had to say about it in a statement:

Cat Lost In Colorado Found In New York!

This is incredible.

A cat that was lost 5 years ago has been found 1,800 miles away from it's home.

It was picked up wandering the streets of Manhattan and identified via an implanted ID chip.

The cat was found healthy and a little over weight, pretty much assuring that it didn't actually travel 1,800 "on paw."

A Message For Pet Owners In The Path Of Hurricane Irene

Good news: If you have a pet in NYC help is one the way!

Animal welfare agencies are pulling together to offer emergency rescue and sheltering of animals in anticipation of the hurricane.

The ASPCA just announced:

"For families who must evacuate, the City’s evacuation centers, as well as its emergency shelters, will be pet friendly, and people are encouraged to evacuate with their pets. Low-lying areas of the city that are most at risk for flooding and other damage and are designated as “Zone A” low-lying areas in the Coastal Storm Plan include Coney Island and Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn, Far Rockaway and Broad Channel in Queens, South Beach, Midland Beach, and other low-lying areas on Staten Island, and Battery Park City in Manhattan."

We are so happy to hear the city hasn't for gotten about it's furry citizens!

BUT keep in mind: emergency animal rescue is a last resort! You can prevent your pet from needing to be rescued by being prepared. Get steps on how to prepare yourself for Hurricane Irene HERE!

Dog Survives 2 Miles Offshore In The Atlantic, For 40 Minutes

Dog Survives 2 Miles Offshore In The Atlantic

Lucky pooch!

A German shepherd struggling to stay afloat 2 miles offshore in the Atlantic was rescued by harbor police Monday night, officials said.

Charlie, the doggie was unable to resist a dip, so he leaped out of his owner's vehicle and bounded into the water near Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, only to be swept away.

When two harbor officers spotted a dog in the middle of the ocean, they couldn't believe their eyes. "Um… is that a dog?" LOLZ?

The copers used a tool called a dog noose to lasso the exhausted pet and pull him onto the boat. The panicked pooch had been in the water about 40 minutes.

Police canvassed the shoreline, where they were able to reunite Charlie with his relieved and grateful owner, who had recently acquired the 8-month-old dog in Germany.

We have a feeling things wouldn't have worked out so well for a weiner dog.

Irina Shayk And Caesare Walk in Style

Irina Shayk And Caesare Walk in Style

Ugh! Must she always look perfect?

Fashion model Irina Shayk was snapped taking her Labrador Caesare out for a walk round Manhattan yesterday as she ran some errands.

Looks like her high-end-flowy-errand-running skirt caught the attention of the two met behind her. Or was it what's under the fabric…?

Irina, who permanently resides in NYC, once said that Caesare was named after Julius Caesar.

She also claimed that he was fathered by one of the dogs who played the title role in Marley & Me.

Donna Karan Allows The Butchering Of Bunnies For Fashion

Donna Karan Bunny Butcher

As Donna Karen prepared for Saturday's fashion show, protestors stood outside her Manhattan office playing the audio of screaming bunnies as they're tortured for vanity.

For someone so sophisticated, we are absolutely appalled to learn about her allowance of the unnecessary deaths of countless rabbits.

PETA reveals to us they hope she’ll join compassionate designers like Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, and Vivienne Westwood. These classy designers have pledged not to contribute to heinous animal suffering by ditching fur once and for all.

Donna Karan, rid the reasoning behind your nicknames (Uncarin' Karan, Cruella DeKaran, etc.), and realize what you're letting happen so you can stop it.

There is no need for the killing of animals in fashion. Plenty of respectable fashionistas proudly adorn themselves in faux fur. As for those who refuse anything but real fur, well, that sure does say a lot about them, doesn't it?

Leisure should *never* be an excuse for murder. Never.

If you would like Donna Karan to know you disagree with her company's practices, let her know.

Whoa! If looks could cause discomfort … yeah, they can and this one most certainly does!

Tinsley Mortimer took her baby pooch Bambi out for a stroll in Midtown Manhattan this past week.

As you might've noticed, neither look too thrilled to be photographed on their afternoon outing.

Still, at least you're not shoved in a bag, Bambi!
