The Wilds is GOING wild over its two newborn rhino calves!

The Greater one-horned rhino and white rhino are vulnerable, just like the other species of rhino due to poaching and habitat reduction, but these two cuties are boosting conservation efforts.

The Greater one-horned calf was born in October while the white rhino was born in late September.

The Wilds is a southeastern Ohio reserve that is pushing towards keeping rhinos existent.

We'd say they are doing an EXCELLENT job!!! Keep it up!

Animal Hoarder Has HUNDREDS of Feces Covered Pets Removed From Her Care

Very sad…and VERY appalling!

Dozens and dozens of animals are recovering at Ohio animal shelter after suffering from the horrors of a hoarder's home.

Thirty-four dogs, six cats, 200 birds, roughly 50 quails and several bunnies were jammed packed inside Dolores Buckley's Parma residence.

The dogs were covered in feces and fleas, and one was so dirty, she had to be SHAVED!

On top of this, Buckley was a puppy mill hoarder, impregnating her pets to try and sell for profit.

Thankfully, the house has been deemed unfit for humans and pets, and a judge is currently deciding what to do with Buckley and her pets.

We have a suggestion: Put them up for adoption!

To learn more about how to help the Parma shelter and these pets, visit the Parma Shelter website HERE!

Animal Hoarder Found Partially Chewed Up By His Dogs

animal-hoarder-eaten-by-dogs-web.jpg

An Ohio man was found dead and partially eaten by his starving dogs.

The man owned FIFTY of them!

Police wouldn't reveal the man's name, but they believed he had been dead for weeks.

Many of the dogs had to be put down or starved to death, while eight were taken to a shelter.

Reports say that police repeatedly asked the man if he needed help with the dogs, but he consistently turned them away.

We wonder what happened to the guy…

Tough way to go though…

Lions, Tigers, Bears (And Wolves) Oh My! Ohio Task Force Seeks To Ban Ownership of Exotic Pets

ohio-seeks-to-ban-exotic-pets-web.jpg

After an Ohio man released 56 lions, tigers, bears, and wolves (and a couple of monkeys that were eaten) on his farm and killed himself, a task force is trying to ban ownership of exotic pets.

This ban would include lizards and other smaller reptiles as well.

48 of the animals released with killed while the remaining six live in zoos. The new bill would require registration for all exotics pets by 2014.

While the bill is picking up steam, many legislators and executives are hesistant about it.

Many cite that businesses would foreclose and many pet owners would be forced to kill their pets.

Polly Britton of the Ohio Association of Animal Owners states the following:

I know the actual bill will look nothing like the summary…They’re grandfathering in owners of these exotics and giving them two years to either comply or dispose of the animals. Now, what’s that owner suppose to do if they can’t comply with all the restrictions and regulations? I’ll tell you; they’ll have to kill those animals. This is their way of making sure all these animals are dead.

Legislators plan on the bill being ready to present in 2012.
