New footage has surfaced in the confusing case of Caleb Flynn and his slain wife Ashley.
Last month, Caleb, who you may recognize from the audition rounds of American Idol season 12, dialed 911 claiming his wife had been shot to death in their Tipp City, Ohio home. In his lengthy and bone-chilling call with the dispatcher, Caleb claimed their home had been broken into:
“Oh my God, somebody broke into my home. Somebody broke into my home and shot my wife. … There’s blood everywhere.”

The TV alum claimed he was not with Ashley “when it happened” as he was with their two young daughters. Police arrived at the scene at around 2:30 a.m. and tragically found Ashley dead with gunshot wounds to her head. You can listen to the heart-pounding 911 call (below):
Law enforcement initially believed Caleb’s account that someone had broken into the family home and murdered his wife, but blame was quickly shifted… to HIM!
The Tipp City Police Department arrested Caleb days after the disturbing incident and charged him with one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence. Fox News cited a criminal complaint claiming Caleb “murdered his wife [redacted] in the morning hours of February 16, 2026.” Now, he’s accused of shooting Ashley with a 9mm handgun and staging the crime scene to throw officers off his trail.
Body cam footage has surfaced online showing the moment officers arrived at the Flynn household — depicting a disheveled Caleb asking about his wife. In video released by TCPD, Caleb can be seen breaking down in tears and crouching behind a dining room chair before asking officers:
“Is she gone?”
In the blurred footage, which was recorded inside, Caleb can be heard incessantly repeating “Oh my god.” A responding officer attempts to calm Caleb, before he asks:
“What am I going to do with my daughters?”
He goes on to call his mother to inform her of the situation, and she later arrives at the scene to console him. You can watch the full clip (below):
Elsewhere in the footage, cops go to check on the children, who had slept through Ashley’s murder. Officers also ask Caleb if there are any firearms in the home, which he responds to by claiming he owns a shotgun and a pellet gun. At one point, one officer whispers to another to stay with Caleb at all times — possibly indicating early suspicion.
Caleb is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $2 million bond. His attorney L. Patrick Mulligan has since criticized prosecutors for their haste in accusing Caleb:
“Caleb Flynn entered a plea of Not Guilty this morning and looks forward to defending this case. We are both disappointed and concerned about the short timeline and seeming rush to judgment in this case. When the government runs out of leads or can’t develop leads and looks at a surviving spouse in cases such as these, the chance of a wrongful conviction increases.”
