Carrie Underwood Must Be Stoked! Tennessee Governor Vetoed The Ag Gag Bill!

carrieunderwood

Just another reason why you don't mess with Carrie Underwood!!!

A couple of weeks ago we reported how Carrie was pissed about an ag gag bill getting passed by Tennessee lawmakers.

The ag gag bill would've made it basically impossible for animals rights activists to secretly document abuse.

Carrie was so mad back then she said she would show up at Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam's house if it was passed!

Well, Bill made sure that didn't happen.

His office has released this statement:

Carrie Underwood Still Fighting For The Animals

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is a champion for those who cannot fight for themselves: the animals!

We previously mentioned that a bill had been passed by the Tennessee legislature that would force whistleblowers to release undercover video of animal abuse to the police within 48 hours of capturing it.

The problem is that animal rights activists say that 48 hours isn't enough time to show an ongoing pattern of abuse.

Because the bill was passed, it's now up to Governor Bill Haslam to sign it into law or veto it.

cunder

We previously told y'all about the beef Carrie Underwood had with a proposed bill that would make undercover animal investigations potentially illegal.

Which made one local politician, Andy Holt, very unhappy. Here's what he said:

“I would say that Carrie Underwood will stick to singing, I’ll stick to lawmaking.”

Aww hell no!

You know our country girl ain't gonna take too kindly to that! And we were right!

Here's what Carrie tweeted back:

Carrie Underwood Is PISSED Over Ag Gag Bill!

Carrie Underwood

We previously mentioned that there has been a lot going on in the world of politics regarding ag gag bills.

These are laws that would make it illegal to undercover document animal abuse and not turn it over to police within 48 hours.

The problem with the law is that 48 hours doesn't give an undercover whistleblower enough time to gather sufficient evidence to show a pattern of constant abuse.

Well Tennessee lawmakers have recently passed a similar bill and Carrie Underwood is very disappointed!

Undercover Animal Abuse Bill Pulled Hours Before Voting

Animal abuse bill pulled

There was a bill about to be voted on by the Assembly Agriculture Committee that was pulled three hours before voting.

It was a bill that would have limited undercover farm animal abuse investigations!

The bill would have made it so that anyone collecting evidence of abuse would have to turn it in to the cops within 48 hours.

The problem with that is it's not enough time to collect enough evidence to show a pattern of illegal activity, according to animal advocates.

The author of the bill said:

New Laws Consider Animal Abuse Exposers Terrorists???

animal cruelty abuse rights exposers terrorist law ag gag awful politics gross

Well this doesn't make much sense! Terrorism? REALLY?

That is, unless the lawmakers are super into abusing animals. Or being paid off. Those are the only ways we could EVER see this happening — because the collection of wide-reaching laws will effectively make it impossible to collect evidence of animal abuse from here on out!

We're talking about cutting off whistleblowers with good hearts or even videographers working with the Humane Society when their evidence usually ends with prosecutions, fines, and even reform among producers! Which is a GREAT thing! Those poor animals!

With the new bills, deemed "Ag-Gag," the people who collect the evidence must turn it into authorities as soon as it's collected, instead of being able to accumulate any detailed or significant body of evidence. Which normally would lead to better results against the offenders!
