Christmas time is just around the corner!

Once we get that pesky Thanksgiving holiday out of the way.

JK LOLz! We love turkey day! But know what we love more? Cute pictures of doggies!

And there are no cuter pictures than ones of Boo!

The population of the Canadian Georgia River reindeer has dropped almost 92% over the last few decades.

There were once over 900,000 reindeer and now there are only about 74,000.

Iron-ore mining, hydro-power flooding and road building are apparently the cause of the dwindling numbers.

Chief of the local natives, the Innu people said:

"All the massive industrial 'development' projects that have been imposed on our land in the last forty years have undoubtedly had a cumulative impact on the size of the caribou herd.

That is why we need real control over our territories and resources, and why we must be involved as equals in decisions that affect our lands and the animals that live there."

So sad that people just living their lives don't even realize the effect they have on the local ecosystem, and how its devastation affects us.

Poor reindeers!

Also, poor Santa! Where will he go to hire more help??

A young black bear was spotted sitting on top of a garbage truck in the middle of a densely urban area in downtown Vancouver.

Animal control officers were stumped as to how the bear made it all the way into the middle of the concrete jungle, but crowds of people seemed more amused than confused.

The bear was eventually tranquilized and carried away, headed back to its woodland home.

A member of the Conservation Officer Service has a theory of how the bear got into the middle of the city.

Dumpsters.

"So presumably the bear would have been in the Dumpster, loaded in the back of the garbage truck and when the operator went to do another pickup in downtown Vancouver that's when he would have realized that there was bear in his truck."

A man selling christmas trees across the street from the garbage truck was the first to spot the bear.

"I couldn't believe what I saw. I had to tell him (the truck driver) 'there's a bear on top of your truck.'

It just sat there and just looked around. It was scared. It was scared. It didn't know what was happening.

It was really different. I wasn't expecting to see a bear jumping out of a garbage truck. That's the last thing I thought I'd see."

Maybe the bear just wanted to sit on a mall santa's lap?

We're sure there aren't too many santas in the woods. LOLz!

Super model Irina Shayk was hanging out with Santa at the ASPCA shelter in NYC.

She got play with some pound pooches during the holiday photo shoot.

Everyone should take a page from her book and go volunteer at a local pet shelter.

Maybe even adopt yourself a rescue dog!

Oh No!!

According to Scientific American, each year, an average of 2,280 metric tons of frog legs are imported into the United States alone (that's somewhere between 450 million and 1.1 billion frogs)!! Holyshiz.

In “Canapés to Extinction: The International Trade in Frogs' Legs and Its Ecological Impact,” a report (PDF) released July 26 by wildlife conservation groups Pro Wildlife, Defenders of Wildlife and the Animal Welfare Institute, billions of frogs are getting nabbed and sliced in order to appear on the plate each year.

But the international frog trade isn't just criticized for depleting natural frog populations. It also has a hand in spreading chytrid fungus, which is linked to the decline and disappearance of not only frogs, but also other amphibian species.

Save the Frogs, an organization based in Santa Cruz, claims that an estimated 62% of the bullfrogs entering California from frog farms in Asia are infected with the fungus.

Kelly Clarkson must have been a good girl this year because Santa got her that pony goat she's been asking for!

The singer posted on Facebook:

"That last picture is one of my Christmas presents an his name is Billy Joel ….he doesn't like anyone else on the land but he loves me which is why I love him even more ha"

We couldn't think of a better name for a goat!

It even looks like him too…
