Jon Stewart Left Speechless By 16-Year Old Nobel Peace Prize Candidate!

Malala Yousafzai is an extremely active advocate for women's education, she's survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban, she was a Nobel Peace Prize candidate…

…and she's only 16 years old!

Now, she can add "Interviewed with Jon Stewart" to her impressive resume, although Jon made it very clear that if anyone was impressed during the interview, it was him.

When asked on The Daily Show how she reacted upon learning that the Taliban wanted her dead, Malala gave a response that stunned the host:

"I started thinking about that, and I used to think that the Talib would come, and he would just kill me. But then I said, 'If he comes, what would you do Malala?' then I would reply to myself, 'Malala, just take a shoe and hit him.' But then I said, 'If you hit a Talib with your shoe, then there would be no difference between you and the Talib. You must not treat others with cruelty and that much harshly, you must fight others but through peace and through dialogue and through education.' Then I said I will tell him how important education is and that 'I even want education for your children as well.' And I will tell him, 'That's what I want to tell you, now do what you want.'"

It's no surprise that after this response, Jon totally wanted to adopt her! If that doesn't work out, we totally call next!

We're so proud of you, Malala! Keep up on being the change you wish to see in the world!

David Beckham Presents Malala Yousafzai With The Courage Award At The Pride Of Britain Awards!

david beckham presents bravery award to malala yousafzai at pride of britain awards

What's better than winning an award??

How about having former soccer stud David Beckham hand you the trophy?! That's like having two victories for the price of one!

Last week, the iconic footballer was on hand at the Pride of Britain Awards in London, where he presented Malala Yousafzai with the Teenager of Courage Award, and she was DEFINITELY deserving!!

The 16-year-old Pakistani girl has been a well known advocate for women's education in her region over the past few years, and one day she was shot in both the head and neck by a Taliban gunman in an assassination attempt on her way home from school!

Luckily, Malala survived the attack, and since then she has become an icon around the world for equal opportunity education for girls!

Earlier this year, she was honored by Angelina Jolie at the Women in the World gala in NYC, and she also became the youngest person to EVER receive a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize!

Oh, and did we mention she's also written a book??

At just 16 years of age, it's absolutely amazing to hear what Malala has already been able to accomplish in her life, and we know this wont be the last we hear of her!

Congrats on the big win! You deserve it!!

Horrible.

The lives of two U.S. Marines were taken on Saturday when a lethal attack by the Taliban targeted an Afghan base just a mile away from where Prince Harry is stationed.

Just a few days ago, it was revealed that the Taliban had threatened to kidnap and/or assassinate the prince during his stay in Afghanistan.

The two soldiers were killed in Camp Leatherneck, which is located just a mile away from Harry's location, the British base, Camp Bastion, in the southern Helmand province.

Taliban spokesman Qari Youssef Ahmadi took credit for the attack, saying:

Pakistan Bans Movie About Islamabad Youth!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooFilm Flickers

pakistan-bans-movie-about-islamabad-youth

Can't say we're surprised by this!

The new Hammad Khan-directed film, Slackistan - which focuses on a group of bored, rich teens living in Islamabad, Pakistan - has been banned by the country's Central Board of Film Censors.

According to reports, they've informed the film's distrubutor, Mara Pictures, that significant cuts would have to be made to the flick - including removing all dialogue that references the Taliban, Osama Bin Laden, Islamic beards and attire, swears, and the word 'lesbian' - if they want the ban removed, and even then, it would STILL be slapped with an 18+ rating.

Khan revealed:

"The censor board's verdict is oppressive, arbitrary and steeped in denial about life outside their government offices. Maybe the establishment's view is that young Pakistanis saying words like Taliban and lesbian represent a more potent threat than the bullets and bombs that are, day by day, finding increasing legitimacy in the country."

Ouch! But he's right!

Not sure that there's anything anyone can do about it, though!

Such a shame that these censorship issues are still so prevalent in countries all over the world.

The US may still have a long way to go, but at least there's always hope that we have the capacity to change and learn and adapt! Lots for which to be thankful!

Thoughts??
