Michael Phelps has always been a bit of a prodigy, even as a gangly teenager.
When he was 15, he was already pretty accomplished, having gone to the 2000 Summer Games. He didn’t medal but he was preparing to crush it in Athens in 2004.
We all know how that story ended! He won like a bajilion medals. (Or 6 golds and two bronze, whatever.)
So amazing to see the most decorated Olympian of all time before he had a single medal! One of his long term goals was to win a medal in Athens and compete in more than one event.
That’s hilarious because he destroyed his own goals!
