Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding are winners!
The pair appeared on a new episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on Wednesday, where they competed to win the grand prize for the Oscar winner’s charity foundation, the Eastern Congo Initiative. At the beginning of the episode, Ben and Jamie, who is a champion from Jeopardy!, had only two questions left in the game. The $500,000 question read:
“What achievement occurred just two months after a New York Times article said it wouldn’t happen for ‘1 million to 10 million years’?”

The answers for the question included: splitting the atom, cloning a mammal, the first airplane flight, or the polio vaccine. Both men agreed the answer was C, the first airplane flight, with Ben explaining:
“I only remember this because it was a time in my life where I spent time looking up examples that the press got things wrong. Yeah, just randomly. And I sort of, vaguely, in my subconscious remember the Times and the Wright brothers and that whole thing was 1905, 3 or 4, or something.”
And they were… CORRECT! WOW! All that remained was the million-dollar question, which read:
“In an annual Thanksgiving tradition, all but which of these have been the names of turkeys pardoned by a U.S. president?
Ben and Jamie had to pick from the options Peanut Butter & Jelly, Tater & Tot, Mac & Cheese, and Spaghetti & Meatball. It took them a while to figure out an answer, even needing to phone in one of Jamie’s friends who wasn’t much help! They also asked host Jimmy Kimmel for a hint!
After much deliberation, the guys ultimately landed on Spaghetti & Meatball, which was… RIGHT! And that meant they won $1 million! How incredible! Watch the winning moment (below):
