Though he has been estranged from his daughter for the past two years, Patrick Lovato has come forward to talk about Demi Lovato’s condition following the announcement that she has been checked into a treatment center.
The father of the Disney starlet is blaming the Hollywood machine for his daughter’s breakdown, claiming:
├óΓé¼┼ôThere are a lot of pressures. That is one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney.”
Though not enough to stop her it seems.
Patrick admits that Demi has been around the industry for most of her life, as was her older sister Dallas, because he and their mother were in bands that toured frequently. He admits that the exposure to the road from an early age might have been what attracted her to it, but he wishes she really hadn’t gotten involved in the biz.
As for her admission into rehab, Patrick was actually uninformed about Demi’s decision to do so, nor was he aware that she was bullied or cutting. He would say that regardless of their estranged relationship, he knows that she’ll be “fine” and that she’s very “strong.”
Here’s hoping he’s right.
