In the December issue of Vogue, Charlize Theron reveals some intimate details behind her split with Stuart Townsend.
When the news originally broke, she reasoned it was because they became more like brother and sister than lovers (read: she got too bored and wasn’t ready to live a life with someone/under the impression hot passion is supposed to happen every day between a couple for the rest of her life).
But now it seems like she’s finally okay with admitting the sizzle just fizzled. And never came back…
After revealing this current time in her life is the first she’s really been single since she was 19 (she’s always been able to jump back in within a month), Char gets into the Stu-juice:
It was sinking, and I had to give it a fight. I really wanted to try and make it work. That was the priority. I wouldn’t do it any different way.
She and Stuart lasted ten years. But during those ten years, she really let herself lose her identity in the relationship, so she’s been working hard on regaining that independence. Now she says:
It├óΓé¼Γäós been nice to rediscover myself. I had to make a real conscious effort to do it. It’s hard. It’s much easier to lose yourself in flowers and cigarettes and coffee with somebody else.
Do you hear that? Is that…? It is! The Sex and the City theme is playing somewhere…
We’re actually a big fan of Charlize’s acting, and we wish her all the gummy bear happiness in the world.
