New wife….new tour…..and now a NEW ALBUM!!!!
Paul McCartney has JUST announced plans for his next album, which comes out this February, and will feature “two new original tracks and several covers.” Coolio!
The covers will be of American songs that inspired Paul “during his songwriting process.”
Here’s what he had to say about it:
“When I kind of got into songwriting. I realized how well structured these songs were, and I think I took a lot of my lessons from them. I always thought artists like Fred Astaire were very cool. Writers like Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, all of those guys — I just thought the songs were magical.”
Paul’s upcoming release will also include collaborations with Diana Krall, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Wonder, all of which we’ll definitely look forward to hearing!
Good luck with the new album, Paul! Sounds like it’s going to be an exciting, McCartney-filled 2012!!!
