Almost a year after ripping off Alexander McQueen, Cadbury is now facing a lawsuit from Naomi Campbell.
The supermodel is pissed at the candy company’s newest Dairy Milk Bliss ad, which compares her to a chocolate bar.
Naomi said of the racist ad (above):
“I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humour in this. It is insulting and hurtful.”
After hearing Campbell was exploring “every available option”, Cadbury yanked the ad and quickly issued a statement:
“It was certainly never our intention to cause any offence and the campaign itself is a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss. Cadbury takes its responsibility very seriously indeed and we would never produce any marketing activity we felt might cause offence to any section of society.”
