New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg is defending his support of the larger than 16 ounce soda ban.
It’s controversial because people are accusing Bloomberg of being a “nanny” for New York and people also really love their 42 ounce big gulps!
He said that “if government’s purpose isn’t to improve the health and longevity of its citizens, I don’t know what its purpose is.”
Life expectancy in New York is actually three years higher than the national average, and Bloomberg is taking the credit.
We feel like even though people will backlash, this will be a good move in the end.
For your health!
