If a company promised us $700k and didn’t pull through, we’d be livid as well!
This is exactly what’s happening with Oscar-winning Octavia Spencer right now, who was courted by Sensa, a weight-loss company that helped her lose 20 pounds in 5 months. She was famous, the stuff was working and she was talking about it. What a match made in heaven!
Except, not. She just filed a lawsuit in L.A. Superior Court alleging “breach-of-contract and fraud.” They haven’t paid a whole lot of the $1.25 million contract she signed with stipulations: no tabloid ads, no “before and after” photos, and wanted transparency by tagging all sponsored tweets with the required #spon hashtag.
It was the Twitter thing that pissed off Sensa, and they seem to think that’s why the campaign was a flop. The company is blaming her and trying to back out of paying her $700,000!
If it was in the contract, it was in the contract — we’re willing to bet they’ll have to pay in full… and probably more… by the time it’s over!
Stick to your guns, Octavia!
