There are few things worse than when an animal is hurt or in danger.
That’s why we absolutely love stories of animal rescue!!
Thank goodness the Wellesley Police Department sprung into action when they got a frantic 911 call from a person saying their 5-year-old golden retriever, Crosby, fell into the Charles river!
The dog’s owner went into a panic after their pup ran out, fell through some thin ice, and was trapped 50 yards offshore.
Thankfully, dispatchers were able to use the caller’s smartphone GPS to pinpoint their exact location and send firefighters to the rescue. In a dramatic scene, they jumped into their Cold Water Survival suits and dove into the river to grab the dog.
