If you weren’t in the Halloween spirit before, you’re going to be after this!
Dancing with the Stars‘ spooooky episode this week was complete with cobwebby dances and the ominous music we love this time of year.
Oh, and of course there was some great dancing too. In fact, we saw the first team dances of the season, along with an elimination!
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd tried to put That Old Black Magic on the judges, and despite being called “very watchable,” they still only got a 28/40.
Stress got the better of Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev this week. Lea wasn’t as fluid and lost her chemistry because she was so focused on hitting all of her steps. Julianne Hough reminded her, “Try to remember the fun.”
But they still got a 34/40!
Nailing their paso doble, Bethany Mota and Derek Hough got rave reviews from the judges, and it wasn’t hard to see why! Bethany definitely got her mojo back in time for the show, getting them a 39/40!
As for Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cheryl Burke, they continued to underwhelm the judges, with Carrie Ann harshly saying, “It makes me uncomfortable to watch you.”
They only ended up with a 27/40.
Michael Waltrip continued to disenchant the judges with his dancing, no matter how hard partner Emma Slater tried to make it work. Julianne added, “In the theme of Halloween, that was kind of a nightmare.”
And everyone gave them a 5, equaling 20/40.
Mona, err, we mean Pretty Little Liars actress Janel Parrish put a spell on the judges with her Viennese waltz, along with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, to the tune of her own show! And the judges were all big fans, giving it a 31/40.
With some big news on his mind, Alfonso Ribeiro pushed his groin injury out of his mind, and rumba-d his way into the judges’ hearts. Carrie Ann said of the dance between Alfonso and partner Witney Carson, “The magic is happening.”
Agreed! They got a 36/40, with 9s across the board.
Last but not least for the couples was Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas who did a darn good paso doble, but it just wasn’t enough. Citing bad balance and too many theatrics, the judges only gave them a 30/40.
And now onto the teams!
This week, Team Itsy Bitsy included Bethany, Janel, Lea, and Michael, as they danced around to Iggy Azalea‘s Black Widow, with a giant web as a prop!
And the score showed the greatness with a 36/40!
Team Creepy, with Alfonso, Sadie, Antonio, and Tommy, wasn’t quite as impressive with their freestyle moves to The Rocky Horror Picture Show‘s Time Warp. The big issue was syncronization, but the judges all thought it was good! Just not good enough, giving them a 32/40.
But someone had to be eliminated, and that someone this week was Antonio, along with his partner Cheryl.
At least they made it this far though!
