We were hoping Kim Kardashian West was going to rock her first red carpet since announcing her second pregnancy… but it looks like our prayers went unanswered.
That’s because Kim and Kanye West showed up to the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night in outfits that resembled their signature looks, but missed the mark.
For starters, Kim’s dress just has way too much going on!
We’re talking a turtleneck, sheer fabric, granny panties, feathers, and grommets — we’d have appreciated something closer to just two of those things.

On the other end of the spectrum, Kanye just looks plain in a slightly too large jacket, but we do love the sneakers!
Hopefully North West‘s baby brother or sister will inspire some better looks for the couple once they’re born.
