On Monday, it was revealed that Empire co-stars Grace Gealey and Trai Byers are in fact engaged. AH-Mazing!
Apparently, Byers made the proposal especially memorable as he popped the question on her birthday! That’s quite a birthday present. WE KID!

“He surprised her on her birthday. He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated. She can’t stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night.”

The duo celebrated their engagement as well as Miz Gealey’s 31st birthday with their fellow castmates. Both actors even took to Instagram to gush (below) about their special evening.

Though we’ll have to take some time to wrap our heads around the pairing as the couple essentially play step-mom and step-son on the popular Fox show.
