Jussie Smollett Indicted By Special Prosecutor In Connection To Alleged Hate Crime Hoax!

Jussie Smollett indicted again over alleged hate crime hoax

Jussie Smollett’s legal woes are far from over!

According to reports, the disgraced Empire star was indicted on Tuesday in Chicago by a special prosecutor in connection to his alleged hate crime hoax a year ago.

The exact details are still unclear at this point, but The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actor was indicted by special prosecutor Dan Webb, a former US Attorney who was appointed by a Chicago judge in August 2019 to investigate the curious case.

Lest we forget, Jussie found himself in a nationwide controversy last year after he told police he was jumped by two men who yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him. After a thorough investigation, officials concluded the attack was staged, and claimed the 37-year-old set the whole thing up for publicity.

Smollett was charged with 16 felony counts, but those charges were later dropped by the Cook County prosecutors’ office in a deal with the actor’s legal team, much to the dismay of police and then-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel

Smollett and his legal team have maintained he was attacked. With this new indictment, he’s due back in court on February 24.
