Those Directioners sure are devoted!
There was some crazy One Direction news this year, between Zayn Malik leaving the band, the release of their fifth studio album, and that devastating hiatus announcement.
So, we aren’t entirely shocked that each member of the famous former fivesome fell somewhere on Twitter‘s top ten most retweeted posts from 2015!

On Monday, the social media site released some data regarding the most popular hashtags, trends, and posts from this year, and Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and even ex bandmate Zayn were getting a lot of love!
But which member — or former member — from this gorgeous guy group claimed the top spot? Well, the winner is…
Harry!
On the same day that the boy band announced Zayn’s departure, the long-locked singer posted a short and sweet message that racked up over 700,000 retweets! It said:
All the love as always. H

Awwww! So touching!
And besides, Zayn quitting 1D was a HUGE deal in the Twitterverse, so we aren’t super surprised that this is the tweet that circulated the most this year!
But where do the other guys fall on the top ten? Ch-ch-check out the full list (below)!
2. Zayn Malik
As we all know, Drag Me Down was One Direction’s first single as a foursome, but the internet almost imploded when the group’s ex member took to social media to share his support, writing:
Proud of my boys the new single is sick. Big love. 🙂 x

3. Liam Payne
Rounding out the top three was ANOTHER 1D artist, who was celebrating the band’s fifth anniversary when he wrote:
Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey I couldn’t thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis Niall Harry and zayn for everything

4. President Barack Obama
And breaking the successful string of One Direction-related posts was President Barack Obama‘s proud post about the Supreme Court‘s decision to overturn the ban on gay marriage! It read:
Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else. #LoveWins
— President Obama (@POTUS) June 26, 2015
5. Louis Tomlinson
Now it’s Louis’ time to shine, claiming the fifth spot with this touching tribute to fans:
Our fans support really has been a different class ! Huge love to you guys !!

6. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia
Salman bin Abdulazz Al Saud — AKA the king of Saudi Arabia — took the throne on January 23, after his half-brother passed away from pneumonia at 90 years old. The new ruler took to Twitter to ask for prayers less than a week after being appointed, posting:
أيها الشعب الكريم : تستحقون أكثر ومهما فعلت لن أوفيكم حقكم، أسال الله على أن يعينني وإياكم على خدمة الدين والوطن، ولاتنسوني من دعائكم.

7. Niall Horan
Selena Gomez‘s rumored new flame shared a snap of himself and Liam during a concert, in honor of the brunette babe’s birthday! Take a look:

This random inspirational message from Kanye West gained quite a bit of traction:
Please: Do everything you possibly can in one lifetime.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) September 23, 2015
9. Leonard Nimoy
Just before his death, Leonard Nimoy used social media to compare life to a garden, and even ended the post with an acronym for “long live and prosper.” Not even a week later, the Star Trek alum passed away at 83.
A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP

10. Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner joined Twitter when her gender transition went public. Her inaugural post closes out this year’s top ten:
I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.
