We’ve lost a legend.
One of the most famous music producers, Sir George Henry Martin, also known as the “Fifth Beatle”, has passed away at 90.
Martin was of course most famously known for signing The Beatles in 1962 to Parlophone Records when the company was mainly focusing on jazz and comedy.

George ended up going on to produce and arrange almost all of the Fab Four’s songs during his career, that lasted more than six decades. Overall, the late producer helped create 23 number-one hits in the U.S. and 30 number one hit singles in the U.K.!
Though there aren’t many details regarding the legend’s passing, Beatles member Ringo Starr took to Twitter to confirm the death by sharing:

Aside from his musical accomplishments, Martin also wrote three books, including his autobiography All You Need Is Love. He also produced and hosted a BBC documentary series called The Rhythm of Life that featured artists discussing the process of composing music.
George is survived by his children Giles, Alexis, Gregory, and Lucy.
Our hearts go out to those affected by this tragic passing.
