We have no words…
On Thursday, the French Interior Ministry has confirmed news that a gunman opened fire on a police vehicle near the well-known Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris, resulting in the death of a police officer. Two other cops and a civilian were also injured in the attack.
The suspect — who Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said was “deliberately” targeting the police force — was eventually shot dead by law enforcement.

French President Fran├â┬ºois Hollande called the attack “terrorist in nature” adding:
“Our security is at stake… This is the message I would like to send tonight. This is a message not only to police forces, the army, its a message to everyone: you will be protected.”
Later that night, the Associated Press confirmed the shooting was organized by ISIS.

The gunman has yet to be completely identified but was given the pseudonym “Abu Yusuf al-Beljiki” and is said to be Belgian.
We offer our thoughts and prayers to those affected by this senseless act of violence.
