So remember when Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, AKA president of a country which definitely didn’t support Drumpf and try to get him elected, had their meeting at the G20 Summit?
It was supposed to last just 30 minutes but ended up going two hours. But even that wasn’t enough time because news just broke that the world leaders had a second, secret meeting afterward!
Ian Bremmer, a political scientist and head of the Eurasia group, revealed the informal meeting during an interview with Charlie Rose on Tuesday.

Not only did that last another hour, but according to Bremmer no one else was present to hear their convo except a Russian translator on Putin’s team. Not a single White House official was there to corroborate what Trump and the Russian president spoke about.
The White House did confirm this meeting took place, though they take issue with the characterization of it as a meeting, calling it instead a a “brief conversation at the end of a dinner.”
It was a brief convo that lasted an hour, and it was between two world leaders whose ties to one another and when they began are the subject of intense scrutiny at the moment, but sure, make your semantic argument. The White House statement continued:
“The insinuation that the White House has tried to ├óΓé¼╦£hide’ a second meeting is false, malicious and absurd. It is not merely perfectly normal, it is part of a President’s duties, to interact with world leaders.”
They weren’t trying to hide it, they just planned never to tell us about it if we hadn’t discovered it some other way.
We think we heard this argument on Jerry Springer once…
Bremmer, the man who thought it was worth the American people knowing about in the first place, has a different take on the meeting. He said:
“You have an hour that evening that no one’s even heard of. We clearly know that Trump does not care what the media has to say about his desire to have a close, personal relationship with the Russian president, and what drives it…
Never in my life as a political scientist have I seen two countries, major countries, with a constellation of national interests that are as dissonant, while the two leaders seem to be doing everything possible to make nice and be close to each other.”
Yeah. Scary stuff.
