Alison Brie Responds To Chrissy Metz's Hot Mic Controversy At The Golden Globes!

All’s well that ends well, it would seem!
Chrissy Metz and Alison Brie got caught up in the worst kind of mid-show controversy at the Golden Globes Sunday night, with Twitter buzzing that a pre-show hot mic revealed Chrissy calling Alison a not-so nice name.

Though there was some debate about what word she actually used, the viral damage was done, and Twitter users thronged together to raise hell for the embattled This Is Us star, who quickly had to come out denying the incident ever took place.
Well, now Alison has jumped into the fray, responding on her own via social media late last night in an attempt to try to help calm the situation (below):

Well that’s certainly better!!!
And Chrissy herself again strongly denied ever saying, um, that word about Alison on the hot mic, both officially repeating her denials on Twitter (below):

And speaking to reporters about it again when she talked to Us Weekly about the incident after the Globes, saying:

“It’s unfortunate people want to say stuff that they don’t know is true or not. Alison and I obviously are friends. She knows that I would never say something like that. It’s kind of terrible. So I’m glad that … I mean, I know the truth. If you actually listen to the video, I don’t say anything. It’s actually not me speaking about that, so it’s unfortunate.”

Metz also revealed that her and Brie had already texted about the incident and it appears both have agreed all the headlines are wrong… and Chrissy never called Alison that name.
AJ Gibson, co-host of the Facebook pre-show, also shared that he believes Chrissy was saying “babe” instead of “bitch.” He told People:

“While interviewing Chrissy during the HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet LIVE pre-show and as our conversation came to its natural conclusion, we were told to wrap and toss over to our co-hosts on another portion of the carpet, who were on standby with Alison Brie. I jokingly asked Chrissy if she knew who Alison was, as a way to transition into the ‘toss’ and she played along. She then referred to Alison as a ‘babe’ and the fun exchange ended.”

Well, OK then!
As long as the actresses are cool with it… guess everybody else should be, too!
