Allison Holker is receiving some major backlash after opening up about what the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss was going through behind closed doors.
On Tuesday, the mom of three revealed she found an array of skeletons in her late husband’s closet after he passed away… First, there was a “cornucopia” of drugs hidden away in shoe boxes, stronger than the pot she knew he smoked. Then the most heartbreaking discovery — he wrote in journals about being sexually abused by a male figure as a child.
Now that she’s shared those very personal discoveries — with more to come with the release of her memoir This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light next month — fans are grappling with their own onslaught of emotions.

When she shared a clip from her interview with People on her Instagram page, users flooded her comments with disapproving messages:
“Unfollowing now! Put some respect on that man’s name. He should’ve be able to trust YOU dead or alive. Your reason, cause you want to help others, this was not the way. Very disappointed! May God bless and watch over his kids, I’m out now! Bye!!!!”
“Wow this was a horrible thing to do.”
“You don’t have enough sense to know this isn’t our business? You should’ve kept this in therapy why would you sit up in front of a camera and air that man business out like this if it was private you should’ve kept it that way. You don’t owe anybody an explanation for his life!”
“Tell us ‘you weren’t his safe space’ without telling us…”
“I can’t believe you would air his business like this ! Completely inappropriate!”
“If he was hiding it then what makes you think he would’ve wanted the world to know now”
Fitness aficionado Kelly Gibson, who once appeared on an episode of Ellen where tWitch was the resident DJ, added:
“This whole thing made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear apart this name? I was fully supportive about you moving [on] and being happy but this@paycheck was not worth disgracing his name.”
And to that comment, Allison responded:
“I’ll always love you. Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support”
After that, Kelly walked back her comment and apologized for “jumping to conclusions.” She replied:
“I love you too. It’s so hard to hear and I imagine it can’t be easy going through what you’ve been through. There will be a lot of hate thrown your way but it’s not for me to judge splice a difficult situation. It’s just so hard to digest. I can’t imagine how you feel so I apologize for jumping to conclusions”
Allison later reshared several posts on her Story of fans offering supportive messages and defending her from backlash. One reads:
“The fact that people are tearing [Holker] down, especially people that were supposed to be in her corner (former colleagues, friends, some of her late husbands family) when she has slowly started to work out the events of the last two years, and is hoping to share her story to HELP OTHERS is wild. She is allowed to share what she’s gone thought, and do it so that she can be transparent and help others in the process. Allison, I hope you know that even though there is some emotional hate coming at you, that there are so many more that love you and your honesty and vulnerability.”
What do YOU make of this situation? It’s always tough when a lost loved one is involved. We can’t imagine what Allison has been going through these past years. Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
