Well this just got awkward!
Dr. Drew tweeted what he thought was a supportive message to Amanda Bynes, which subsequently caused her to take it the wrong way and lash out!
And by “lash out”, we really mean that Amanda called Dr. Drew ugly.
Over the weekend, Dr. Drew tweeted:
I think it may be time to leave @AmandaBynes alone.She will get help if she wants it & if she needs it,hopefully before serious consequences

We see how he was trying to be supportive by not offering help to someone who’s clearly not asking, but we can also see why Amanda took offence!
Amanda tweeted in response:
@drdrew WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? What kind of help are you referring to? You're ugly and I want you to leave me alone!

The inneresting thing is that while Amanda was obviously upset, she reiterated Dr. Drew’s plea that people leave her alone! Dr. Drew was totes right about what she needed!
Dr. Drew clarified later:
“What I meant was, I had been receiving literally thousands of emails demanding I help Amanda Bynes. I don’t know Amanda, she’s never asked me for help, nor have any of her people; she lives 3,000 miles away, so it was just responding to that saying, ‘Look guys, leave her alone; if she needs help, hopefully she’ll get help one day before something bad happens. Just the idea of help upset her, and I apologize Amanda. It was not my intent; I thought I was being supportive. Social media is not helping Amanda Bynes.”
